England, early seventeenth century, the Puritan pilgrims or "pilgrims" took refuge in Holland and decided to settle in North America. On 6 September 1620, under the command of Captain Christopher Jones, with 25 sailors and pilgrims, the vessel left Plymouth for America. 77 days later, the MAY FLOWER dropped anchor at what is now the Province Town Harbor. Sold on 26 May 1624 to be demolished, is a crucial part of American history, it was rebuilt in England and launched on 22 September 1955. On 20 April, repeating his historic journey, the MAY FLOWER II joined Province Town (Massachusetts) on 12 June 1957. She currently serves as the museum in Plymouth (USA).
