• The famous ship of scientific research of the Commander CHARCOT (1907/1936) was put in construction site to St Malo in September, 1907, thrown in May, 1908. It was one three mast, very strong, known wooden boat to resist to the pressure of the galces of Antarctica.

• Moving 800 tons, his length was 40 metres and its 9 meters width; his 4,30 meters draft.

• His steam engine gave him a speed of 7 knots; with his buckle, he could reach 10 knots. " WHY NOT " made wreck on September 16th, 1936 off REYKJAVIK, on 44 men(people) of crew; there was only a single survivor.
